Père Lachaise Cemetery

This famous cemetery is known for containing the remains of many celebrated people.



Jonny at the tomb of Oscar Wilde. People write tributes to him on the plexiglass that surrounds it.


Gertrude Stein's grave. A reference to her lover
Alice B. Toklas is inscribed at the back of the tombstone.


Jonny at Moliere's tomb. The woman who took the photo was an actress,
and she and Jonny had a long conversation about French theatre there.


Marcel Marceau's grave.


By far the most visited grave at the cemetery, rocker Jim Morrison. Jonny wasn't a fan.

Pianist/composer Frédéric Chopin.


The oldest residents of the cemetery, 12th century lovers Abélard and Héloïse.


A dog is depicted lying at Abélard's feet to signify devotion.
