Ernst Lubitch's Heaven Can Wait was nominated for Best Picture in 1943. Warren Beatty's Heaven Can Wait was also nominated for Best Picture in 1978. The latter was a remake, but of 1941's Here Comes Mr. Jordan, not of its namesake.

Moulin Rouge was a Best Picture nominee in 1952 and 2001. The former was a biopic of the painter of the painter Toulouse-Lautrec starring José Ferrer. The latter, a lavish musical with Nicole Kidman.
