New Place was
the second-largest house in Stratford that Shakespeare purchased
and ultimately retired to after making his fortune in London. the
house was ultimately razed by a later owner after a petty fight
over taxes with the town government. The land that the house stood
on is now a garden.
The brickwork
that Jon is standing in front of is the only portion of the original
house still standing.
Another shot
of the original brickwork of the house.
