Avenue Q

This was the last of the eight shows Jon saw on the trip, a thoroughly delightful satire of
Sesame Street where the characters are depicted by actors holding muppet-like puppets.
The highlight of the show is the number The Internet is for Porn, which can be heard by clicking here.

It took place at the Noël Coward Theatre, which (when it was called the New Theatre) housed such landmark productions as John Gielgud's 1934 Hamlet, Gielgud's production of Romeo & Juliet (in which he alternated the roles of Romeo and Mercutio with Laurence Olivier), Olivier's Richard III and legendary double-bill of Oedipus and The Critic, and Ralph Richardson's Cyrano and Falstaff in the two parts of Henry IV.
